The future of collaborative music production

Audiotool is the most feature rich browser-based DAW to date. We've built a complete production environment with synthesizers, samples, effects, mixer, presets - all accessible from anywhere, at any time, with no installation required. 

But we're not only building a DAW - we're building a platform.

Opening up music production

Traditional DAWs offer some extensibility through scripting and VST plugins for sound generation, but those solutions are often limited, desktop-bound, and difficult to share. We're taking a different approach: opening up the entire project state API that works across the internet, so developers and AI agents can build tools that enhance the creative process in ways we haven't even imagined yet.

What you can build

Our TypeScript SDK gives you bidirectional, real-time access to Audiotool projects over the internet. Changes sync instantly—add a melody, restructure arrangements, generate variations, and everyone in the session sees it immediately.

This isn't about audio processing or VST-style plugins that run inside the engine. This is about building around the DAW: connecting external services, creating companion apps, automating workflows, and bridging the gap between different tools in your creative process.

Think:

  • stem separation services that split samples directly into your browser
  • remote control your mix from your phone
  • jam buddies that harmonize your tracks in real time
  • generative tools that build complex device chains on command
  • intelligent arrangers that understand music theory and generate full compositions across multiple tracks
  • generate new ideas with the press of a button
